Laundry Room Window Style |
Just close your eyes and think of happy thoughts and what pleases your eyes the most. Do you love the roaring of the sea and the beautiful beach scenes or do you have a thing for antique cars? Remember, you don't have to decorate this room like the rest of your house. Pick a theme for your it and then carry it throughout the entire room, no matter if it is a tropical theme or a vintage theme. How about a certain color - is it red or a pastel yellow? Do whatever pleases you.
If you want to pick a vintage theme for your clothes washing place think of what kinds of things they used way back when they washed clothes. You could start by perhaps going to flea markets and seeing if you can pick up some old antique washboards and detergent boxes. You could also get a few vintage irons to throw into the mix. You may want to add an antique painting or two depending upon the size of the room. What types of things can you do to give the room a cheery appearance? Decorate some of your shelves with weathered baskets and greenery. Try to get a coordinating throw rug that matches the paint on your walls or that blends in with your "artifacts" that you have scattered around the room. If there is a window in your laundry room, make sure it is emitting just enough light for you.
If you would rather not go with a decorating theme for the room, then you can easily spice it up by choosing colorful paint on the walls, either paint or update your cabinets, use artwork and flowers around the room and upgrade the flooring. Make sure that it will not matter if anything is spilled on the floor. Laminate and vinyl flooring and ceramic tile are good choices for the floor.
